Two former ministers of economy and of health from Latin American countries met in a stimulating debate on the evident relationship between the two areas, as evidenced by the COVID-19 pandemic, for the sustainability of health systems in the region. In order to protect the well-being of the population and promote social and economic development, governments must consider an approach that includes health in all state policies.
